Extra! Extra! Read all about it!

We picked an agency!  After what seemed like forever...we did it!  We came across Adoption Link, Inc. through a friend at work and decided this was the best fit to start our family.  Once we made the decision to adopt through Adoption Link, Inc., things started moving quickly!

We sent in our initial paperwork, were accepted as clients a few days later...met with the director of Adoption Link, Inc. a few weeks after that and are now in our home study phase!!  We feel so incredibly blessed to have this opportunity and truly feel that this is the best plan for our family at this time.

We have been diligently working through all the necessary home study paperwork and see the light at the end of the tunnel!  We are finished with all the needed documents!  Now we are focusing our attention on completing life books of our life together and it is a joy to see some of the activities of our past through our pictures.  It makes us incredibly excited to add children into future photo memories.

Just this past Friday, my amazing coworkers threw Jake and I a surprise baby shower!  We felt so blessed and humble at the love that was shown to us!  Our nursery is now becoming full of wonderful things for our future little one....it is so fun to look at every time we walk by their room.

We cannot wait for the next step in our adoption journey and can only imagine what is in store for us next!  This process has been wonderful and we are certain it will only get better as we get closer to meeting our birthmother and welcoming our child into our home...

Welcome to Our Journey

Our Road...

We have been together for a little over 7 years. We were high school sweethearts and went to the same college (not on purpose though!). We separated for a short period of time while in college, but after much persistence from Jake and our Heavenly Father's blessing, we were married in June 2008. You could say that we are the ultimate duo...Jake balances out my strong-willed stubbornness and I help to keep Jake on task. We enjoy spending time outdoors hiking and are even crazy enough to run a half marathon this coming September.

About Jake...

Jake is a 26 year old football and ESPN enthusiast and can be pegged as having the "biggest heart." In high school, he was elected person with the biggest heart and it shows in his occupation as a Registered Nurse...he even works with Open Heart patients! Heavenly Father has blessed Jake with a tender heart and a strong spirit. He is active with our church's Boy Scout program and assists in teaching 14-16 year old boys gospel principles in Sunday school class. He is not a quitter by any means and makes an effort to become friends with everyone. He makes a wonderful husband and I have no doubt that he will make a wonderful father too. He is such a big kid and has told me countless times that he cannot wait for children so that he can play with toys again too! Jake has strong morals and has a level head that will make raising a child seamless for him...he was destined to be a father.

About Amy...

Amy is 25 years old. The first thing that you notice about her is her beautiful smile that seems to brighten anyone's day. She is kind and caring and this is displayed in her profession as an E.R. Nurse at Children's hospital. She has always loved working with kids and they seem to always gravitate towards her. All anyone has to do is see her with a child and they will immediately know that she is destined to be a great mom. She already has to deal with a big kid like me so raising a little child should be no trouble for her. I have never met someone who is so loving and kind and can make any rainy day disappear with a smile and a kiss like she can. She will be an amazing mommy who will love her children unconditionally.

Our Dream...

We have always wanted to have children...Jake enjoys the odd numbers and would ideally love to have 3 children, while I am a fan of even numbers and dream to have 4 children. After a bumpy road through infertility, the Lord opened our eyes and hearts to adoption. We truly feel like we are being blessed with the opportunity to adopt a precious child. We want nothing more than to raise a family and realize that adoption was really our Heavenly Father's Plan "A" for us all along. We know the journey will be long and hard, but we also understand that the reward is well worth the wait.

Our Wish...

We hope that as you read our blog, you will feel comforted in whatever you may be going through and truly feel the love that Jake and I have for each other and for you. We are grateful for the opportunity that you have given us in reading about us. We look forward to meeting you and always remembering you as a key part of our life.
